Archery moose hunts start in mid September prior to the rut. The archery hunts are conducted in the Eastern slopes region of west-central Alberta just prior to the rut. We hunt on natural mineral licks that the moose come to on a daily basis. The bull moose are starting to get ready for the rut and are actively looking for cows that might be ready to breed. The moose in this zone average 35-45 inch spread with a few exceeding the 50 inch mark, our best being 53 inches.

Rifle moose rut hunts take place from late September to mid October in the northern boreal forest of Alberta. We utilize calling to get the bulls into position for a shot. If you have never seen a fired-up bull moose come to the call, then you are missing one of the most exciting things you will ever see. This is a very exciting time to hunt moose as the moose are very aggressive. We scout the area prior to the hunt to determine where the concentration of the cows are, this increases the chance of seeing some real trophy bulls. The moose in this zone average 35-45 inch spread with a few exceeding the 50 inch mark.

Fishing is available during our rut moose hunts. Fishing for northern pike and walleyes is a great addition to your hunt once you've harvested your moose. If you want to include fishing to your hunt you may want to bring your fishing gear. We recommend medium weight spinning or bait-casting gear; an assortment of rubber-bodied jigs, medium to large size crankbaits and large spoons. Large spinners are good, too. Chartreuse, white, and orange for your jigs, blue/chrome, perch, and red for your crankbaits and red/white, yellow/red five of diamonds for your spoons.

The dates shown for moose hunts are hunting days only. Hunters will be picked up and taken to camp on the day prior to their first hunting day, and they will be returned to the hotel/airport on the day following their last hunting day.

Moose Hunt Costs
  • Archery Moose/Wolf Combo (Pre-rut): $4,400.00 US and licenses $400.00
  • Archery Moose/Archery Whitetail Combo (Pre-rut): $4,495.00 US and license $575.00
  • Archery Moose/Archery Black Bear Combo (Pre-rut): $4,495.00 US and license $575.00
  • Rifle Moose/Wolf Combo (Rut): $5,500.00 US, 2x1, licenses $400.00 US.
  • Rifle Moose/Wolf Combo (Rut): $6,600.00 US, 1x1. licenses $400.00 US.
  • Non-hunting guests cost $150 US/day.
 Included in moose hunts:
• Meals and lodging during the hunt
• Transportation during the hunt
• Guide services and preparation of trophies for travel.

Not Included in moose hunts:
• Airfare to/from airport
• Taxidermy, shipping of trophies and meat
• Alcohol
• Hotels before and after the hunt
• 6% GST
• Non-hunting guests cost $150 US/day
• Fishing license costs $64.40 CDN
